2010 History Makers Awards Categories


Best History Production - This award recognizes the series or special that has made the most public impact, advances the history genre and exemplifies the highest production values.  

Best Use of Archive in a History Production
- the program, in the field of History that best exhibits the highest level of craft in seamlessly treating and integrating Archives to achieve the most powerful impact.

Best Current Affairs Production - The production that best presents a contemporary issue in the most dramatic and impactful manner. The importance of the issue(s) and the effect of the programs exposure will also be considered.

Best Use of Archive in a Current Affairs Production - the program, in the field of Investigative or Current Affairs that best exhibits the highest level of craft in seamlessly treating and integrating Archives to achieve the most powerful impact.

Most Innovative Production
– This award recognizes creativity and originality in History and Current Affairs content and technique as well as in its use of cross-platforms.

Lifetime Achievement Award** This award recognizes an individual who has exhibited the highest qualities and consistently achieved excellence in performing their services to history and current affairs programming.  

**The Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to an individual chosen by the History Makers Advisory Board, and is not available for entry into the competition.  An announcement will be made prior to the History Makers Awards announcing this year’s recipient.
