Hidden Archives: Finding and Using New Sources

Last year, we awarded “102 Minutes that Changed America” with the Most Innovative Program at the History Makers Award ceremony. Its use of amateur footage taken during the 9/11 attacks was powerful and graphic.  Since then, we have noticed an explosion in the use of hidden archives to give new perspective to an old story.  Advisory Board member Elizabeth Klinck is producing a session at History Makers which discusses the art of finding and using never-before-seen footage from a wide variety of sources. Elizabeth has worked as a producer, researcher and clearance specialist on numerous award-winning Canadian, American and British documentary films and last year she was honored with the Focal International Lifetime Achievement Award.  View our schedule of events here.
